Chin Implants

Chin augmentation is often performed in addition to other facial procedures, such as a rhinoplasty or neck lift. The nose and the chin are two very dominant facial features that can bring harmony to the face or be a source of unbalance which attracts attention. Patients that are concerned about a large nose often have a rhinoplasty and chin implant to make the nose a bit smaller and the chin a bit bigger. These two subtle changes can balance the features and bring harmony to the face as a whole.

Similarly, during a facelift a patient may have an implant placed on the chin to compliment neck liposuction or a necklift. The implant adds definition to the chin and separates it from the neck. This is an effective solution for patients concerned about a “double chin”

Chin Implant Procedure

The chin implant procedure is performed in our private surgery center located in the Memorial City area of Houston, and anesthesia is administered by board-certified anesthesiologists. The surgeon will make a small incision under the chin, and insert the acrylic implant chosen by the patient and surgeon during a preoperative appointment. The length of surgery varies between 1-4 hours, depending on whether the chin augmentation is performed alone or in conjunction with another procedure.
