Paying for plastic surgery may involve using savings, credit, financing, or a combination of payment methods. At The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery (ACPS) in Houston, patients can pay by cashier’s check, major credit card, or apply for financing through PatientFi® or CareCredit®. Eligible patients may also reduce the overall cost of surgery by choosing one of our board-eligible Junior Associate Plastic Surgeons.

The best option depends on your procedure cost, available savings, budget, and whether you prefer to pay in full or make payments over time.

What Options Are Available To Pay for Plastic Surgery?

Plastic surgery can be paid for upfront or financed over time. Because cosmetic plastic surgery is generally elective, health insurance typically doesn’t cover the cost.

At ACPS, payment options include:

Cashier’s checks: If you’ve saved for your procedure and prefer to pay the full amount without taking on debt, paying directly may be the simplest option.
Major credit cards: A credit card can offer convenience and flexibility. Before using one for a significant expense, consider the card’s interest rate and how long you expect to take to pay off the balance.
PatientFi: This patient financing program allows qualified patients to divide the cost of treatment into monthly payments.
CareCredit: This healthcare credit card provides another financing option for qualified patients.

These options give patients the flexibility to pay in full or spread the cost over time, depending on their financial circumstances.

How Does Plastic Surgery Financing Work?

Plastic surgery financing allows qualified patients to divide the cost of a procedure into payments over time instead of paying the entire amount upfront. Financing plans vary in their interest rates, fees, repayment periods, and monthly payments, so it’s important to compare the total cost as well as the monthly payment.

At ACPS, PatientFi offers a streamlined application process and a variety of payment plans. Additionally, qualifying patients can use a CareCredit card to finance eligible healthcare expenses in accordance with the terms of their financing plan.

Before applying for financing, you’ll need to know the expected cost of your procedure. After your surgeon develops a personalized surgical plan during your consultation, the ACPS team can provide specific pricing and help you determine the appropriate amount to request when applying for financing.

How Do People Afford To Pay for Plastic Surgery?

People pay for plastic surgery in several ways, including saving to pay upfront, using a credit card, financing some or all of the cost, or combining more than one payment method. At ACPS, eligible patients may also consider having their procedure performed by a Junior Associate Plastic Surgeon.

ACPS Junior Associate Plastic Surgeons are fully licensed physicians who have completed medical school and an accredited plastic and reconstructive surgery residency. They practice independently within the ACPS care model, with mentorship and collaboration from our experienced board-certified plastic surgeons. They also follow the same ACPS surgical protocols, safety standards, and postoperative care guidelines.

Procedures performed by Junior Associate Plastic Surgeons are offered at more accessible price points than those performed by our more established surgeons. A consultation is required to determine whether you’re a candidate for surgery with a Junior Associate Plastic Surgeon.

How Do You Choose the Right Way To Pay for Plastic Surgery?

The right way to pay for plastic surgery depends on your procedure cost, available savings, monthly budget, and the total cost of any financing you’re considering. Start by getting a personalized cost estimate, then compare your payment options based on what you can comfortably afford upfront and over time.

Plastic surgery pricing varies based on the procedure, its complexity, operating room and anesthesia expenses, and the specifics of your surgical plan. Once you know your expected cost, consider questions such as:

  • Can you comfortably pay some or all of the cost from savings?
  • If you finance the procedure, what monthly payment realistically fits your budget?
  • What interest, fees, and other costs are associated with the financing plan?
  • How much will you pay in total by the end of the repayment period?
  • Are you comfortable taking on the financial obligation along with your other expenses?
  • Are you eligible for more accessible pricing with an ACPS Junior Associate Plastic Surgeon?

There isn’t a single payment method that’s right for everyone. Comparing the full costs and financial commitments associated with each option can help you choose an approach that fits your circumstances.
