Dr. Kristi Hustak specializes in cosmetic female genital rejuvenation, one of the fastest growing areas of cosmetic plastic surgery. No longer a taboo topic of conversation—more women are seeking options to improve the comfort and appearance of this region as well as nonsurgical and surgical treatments which enhance the enjoyment of intimacy.
As a female plastic surgeon and mother of two, Dr. Hustak brings a uniquely empathetic perspective to her role, allowing her to authentically connect with patients and understand their goals. Dr. Hustak says, “I understand what it’s like to face changes to the body after having a baby–the roller coaster of emotions that goes with this, and the diet and exercise woes so many of us experience to reclaim our bodies after all of this.”
Patients who choose Dr. Hustak appreciate not only her personal understanding of their goals but also the professional standards of excellence she upholds, as reflected in the prestigious honors she’s earned. Dr. Hustak has been named one of the top plastic surgeons in Houston in polls conducted by H Texas and Houstonia magazines. As a resident in the highly competitive plastic surgery program at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) in Galveston, Dr. Hustak received acclaim as the UTMB Plastic Surgery Resident of the Year, an honor her peers awarded her in 2013. She was named an Overall Outstanding UTMB resident of the Year nominee 2014, an accolade given to a select few out of 500 residents.
Dr. Hustak is extensively trained in the most current surgical and nonsurgical methods to achieve improvement of a broad range of the aesthetic concerns her patients express. Most of the cosmetic female genital rejuvenation procedures she offers do not require general anesthesia and patients can return home the same day. Below are some of the most common cosmetic female genital rejuvenation procedures Dr. Hustak performs:
Cosmetic vaginoplasty
The goal of cosmetic vaginoplasty is to restore tightness to the vaginal canal, which is often stretched in women who experienced vaginal childbirth, becoming increasingly more so with each vaginal birth a woman undergoes. Excess vaginal tissue lining is removed and, in some cases surrounding muscles are tightened with the goal to increase friction during intercourse to heighten pleasure.
Labiaplasty
This procedure encompasses procedures related to the labia minora (inner lips) and labia majora (outer lips). Some women desire labia contouring and/or reduction because they want to improve asymmetry, the fit of their tighter pants and swimwear, and/or they feel self-conscious during intimacy.
G-Spot Enhancement
The G-spot is a sensitive area of the anterior wall of the vagina that can be stimulated to arousal in some women. Enhancement of the G-spot is a simple office procedure in which a small amount of dermal filler, usually a hyaluronic-based product, is injected into a location that you and Dr. Hustak determine together at the time of your consultation is the area of maximum sensitivity for you. This is typically about 1-3 inches past the vaginal opening.
Monsplasty
Some women wish to reduce excess fullness of the mons pubis, which is the hair-bearing triangular region between the lower abdomen and vulva. While this area is typically addressed during a tummy tuck procedure, it can also be performed as an isolated procedure through liposuction to remove fat and or the excision of extra skin to restore a firmer, flatter contour. In other cases, women may want to add volume to a deflated mons, a goal that can be achieved through cosmetic injectables.
Labia Majora Volume Enhancement
Some women, particularly those who are post-menopausal due to normal hormonal changes and those who’ve undergone major weight loss, experience atrophy of the labia majora. The loss of cushioning in this area can make some activities physically uncomfortable such as riding horses, motorcycles, and sexual intimacy. Volume can be added through dermal hyaluronic acid fillers or through fat grafting, in which your own unwanted fat is removed from one area of the body through liposuction and then transferred to your labia majora or mons via small needles.
