Meet Dr. Jared Garlick

Under the supervision of ACPS surgeons, Dr. Garlick conducts consultations with his patients, and he performs surgeries at the private ACPS Surgery Center, which is certified by the Texas Department of Health and the American Association for Accreditation of Ambulatory Surgery Facilities (AAAASF. This certification indicates the highest standards for equipment, operating room safety, staff and surgeon credentials, and sterilization are implemented.

Q: Of all the plastic surgery fellowships in the nation, why did you choose the ACPS Fellowship program?
Dr. Garlick: I knew I was looking for a program which would support two major goals. First, I desired to surround myself with passionate and gifted surgeons who would help me build upon my own fundamental plastic surgery knowledge with advanced cutting edge training in aesthetic plastic surgery of the face, breast, body, and Medspa services. Second, it was important I attended a program that would help teach me the key nuances of running a successful private plastic surgery practice. ACPS encompasses everything I wanted in a fellowship. I know I will leave my fellowship at ACPS with an exceptionally well-rounded training, ready and confident to start my own practice

Q: Please tell us a little about your background and what inspired you to become a plastic surgeon.
Dr. Garlick: Growing up on a ranch in rural Utah exposed me to hard work from a young age. This work ethic, coupled with my passion for medicine, drawing, and art helped guide me to discovering plastic surgery as my perfect career choice.

Q: What are some of your goals related to your work, and what do you most love about it?
Dr. Garlick: I love working with each patient, individualizing their treatment plan so they can achieve their best aesthetic results. I enjoy using my artistic touch to help each patient build or restore the confidence and happiness they deserve. I also have a strong passion for patient education and safety, and will always be there to advocate for patients.

Q: In your free time, what do you enjoy doing?
Dr. Garlick: When not seeing patients, you can find me golfing, playing tennis, trail running or boating. I enjoy being outdoors in the warm weather.

Q: What is something interesting about you that people might be surprised to know?
Dr. Garlick: I grew up on a cattle ranch in a small town in southern Utah.

Q: What is one of your favorite quotes and why?
Dr. Garlick: “The eye can not see what the mind does not know.” -D.H. Lawrence. I first heard this quote in medical school, but it’s message has persisted with me throughout my plastic surgery training. It serves as a constant reminder for me to always be learning, always be studying, and to approach each new problem with an open mind and a keen eye. With that, I’m able to use the knowledge I’ve acquired in innovative ways to best serve the unique individual needs of my patients.
