Surgeons at The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery (ACPS) presented their innovative safety and body contouring techniques at the 2019 conference of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery in New Orleans. Plastic surgeons from across the nation gathered at the meeting to learn more about the newest and best advances in cosmetic plastic surgery. In their talk, Keeping Your Body Contouring Patients Safe: 20 tips to Better Contouring Strategies and Safer Surgeries, Drs. Chris Patronella, Henry Mentz, German Newall, Paul Fortes, Rolando Morales and Kristi Hustak highlighted methods they’d developed such as their power-assisted fat grafting method to achieve shapelier Brazilian Butt Lift results more safely, the incorporation of long-acting anesthetic Exparel in surgeries to give patients a more comfortable recovery experience, and liposuctions methods to create more authentic, attractive three dimensional anatomical contours. Dr. Morales further expanded on the topic of Brazilian Butt Lift Surgery in his presentation, “Novel Approach to Buttock Augmentation: “Dual Plane” Technique with solid Silicone Buttock Implants and Fat.” With his approach of combing silicone buttock implants and fat grafting, Dr. Morales has achieved successful aesthetic results with minimal complications, (<1%). In addition the ACPS Fellow for 2018-2019, Dr. Amaka Nwubah spoke on several topics at the meeting, including methods to enrich the concentration of stem cells in fat grafts and the use of Progressive Tensions Sutures to create anatomical definition and to reduce the need for drains in body contouring procedures.
Body contouring is a niche in which ACPS surgeons are respected globally for the groundbreaking techniques they’ve introduced ever since they established ACPS in 1996. Dr. Henry Mentz said, “People are becoming much more interested in having beautiful physiques. Subsequently, their surgeons have become more skilled at creating the 3D contours which enhance the body. It’s a learned technique, and our group at ACPS has contributed substantially to this area.”
