Sweat Reduction Treatment

MiraDry is a noninvasive treatment that permanently reduces underarm sweat and odor—no downtime required. It’s a simple solution to eliminate embarrassing concerns often associated with excessive perspiration:

  • That less-than-fresh armpit smell you detect at the end of the day, when you are off to evening activities with no time to shower
  • Perspiration marks that are evident when you remove your suit jacket
  • Chalky white antiperspirant smears on your dark attire
  • Humid, hot weather and/or activities which generate excessive perspiration and odor under your arms, inhibiting your confidence in social and work settings.

MiraDry uses a proprietary miraWave energy to target and destroy the glands which produce sweat and odor in your underarms. Once these are gone, they do no grow back, so they are eliminated for good.

Not under your arms—you are born with approximately  2 million sweat glands, and only 2 percent of these are located under your arms. With miraDry, you can enjoy the benefits of dry underarms while your body continues to perspire normally elsewhere.

You will be in a reclined position for about an hour while the procedure is performed. You are unlikely to feel discomfort during the treatment because your underarms will be numbed prior to this. Afterwards, you may experience soreness, swelling, numbness and tingling in the treated areas. This typically resides within 2 days to 2 weeks.

One treatment is sufficient for most people, but an additional treatment may be required for some patients. Your caregiver will determine the best treatment plan for your desired results.

You can expect to have an immediate reduction in your sweat.  Prior to having the procedure done, you and your caregiver should discuss you amount of sweat reduction you desire in order to determine the best treatment plan for you.
