Dr. Rolando Morales

Dr. Morales, a Houston native, has set the standard high for young surgeons in Houston and across the United States. In his four years of professional practice he has presented at every national plastic surgery meeting (ASPS and ASAPS), an honor many surgeons will never get in their lifetime. His groundbreaking research on Exparel® a long-lasting anesthetic, and Elliquis, a novel anticoagulant, has received attention across the nation. Additionally, his articles on Exparel® and Elliquis were accepted for publication in the prestigious Aesthetic Surgery Journal “Editor’s Choice” award in body contouring. He continues his research endeavors in plastic surgery with innovative medicines and techniques. Dr. Morales has spearheaded the effort to establish an ASAPS-endorsed fellowship for ACPS.  As the architect of the fellowship, Dr. Morales set out to design an experience that allows ambitious young plastic surgeons to fully capitalize on the benefits of working at the aesthetic surgery practice that Dr. Morales believes to be the “best in Houston by far and, arguably, the state.” As part of the real-world curriculum, surgeons chosen for the fellowship will observe all aspects of a successful private plastic surgery practice and receive invaluable one-on-one training and mentoring from the groups’ surgeons. “Drs. Patronella, Mentz, and Newall have so much to pass on from their experience,” commented Morales. To give back to future generations is priceless to us. This fellowship will be our group’s legacy.” It is an understatement to say Dr. Morales has taken the Houston plastic surgery field by storm. In addition to these great academic accomplishments, his surgical results are phenomenal. Dr. Morales performs all aesthetic surgery of the breast, body, and face. He specializes in breast augmentation, Brazilian butt lift, Buttock Augmentation with Implants, abdominoplasty, and the Mommy Makeover. Dr. Morales joined the prestigous Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery (ACPS) in July of 2012. ACPS was founded in 1996 and is currently ranked as the largest private plastic surgery center in Texas. The practice is distinguished by the highest quality of personal service, commitment to safety and patient confidentiality, and superior results that encompass the entire body. Currently, Dr. Morales divides his time between two ACPS offices in Houston, and surgery. He has been selected to several plastic surgery committees of the national societies, and also is active in presenting at these national plastic surgery meetings. Dr. Morales, his wife, and two young daughters reside in Houston. Learn more about Dr. Morales, and visit his website.

Biography

-1As a plastic surgeon, Dr. Rolando Morales considers it a rewarding privilege to enhance each person’s unique beauty through a career that allows him to combine his love of art and medicine.

For Morales, the desire to become a plastic surgeon was inspired by his unique upbringing, growing up in a home with a mother who was a nurse and his father, who worked as a medical sculptor for 40 years at the esteemed Shriners Burn Institute in Galveston. As one of the nation’s few experts in this field, his father created customized silicone replacements for noses, ears, and other anatomical parts—designed to blend seamlessly and naturally with the body—for individuals disfigured by burn injuries and cancer.
Dr. Morales credits his mother for instilling within him a compassion for helping others, an ambition to strive for excellence in every pursuit, and the determination to persevere. As one of six children and an immigrant to the United States, she overcame a challenging upbringing to eventually obtain a college PhD and become an accomplished and beloved nurse practitioner in her community.

As a young man, Dr. Morales had the privelege of assisting his father at work, fashioning silicone ears for young burn victims. This gave him the opportunity to work with plastic surgeons who–recognizing his talent, sharp mind, and skillful ability to work with patients–encouraged him to consider pursuing a career in their medical specialty. Because of his strong academic achievement, research experience, and volunteer activity, Dr. Morales was honored to be selected from among the nation’s top medical student applicants for a position in a highly-competitive six-year plastic and reconstructive surgery residency program. In addition to thoroughly equipping him to perform all of the complex operative techniques of this profession, the vast and intensive surgical education and training he received provided him with the skill and experience to minimize and manage any potential complications in order to achieve a successful outcome.
