Scar Improvements

At The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery we offer several options to improve the appearance of scars. Surgically realigning the scar along natural lines, narrowing the scar, or flattening the scar are methods utilized in scar improvement. The latest ultra-pulse laser technology may also provide another method of scar improvement. The laser safely improves the appearance of some scars, usually after a few sessions... and in most cases without anesthesia. A fast, sharp laser beam actually reacts with water in the cell, vaporizing the cell.

Skin imperfections are quickly and accurately treated, layer by layer, leaving the patient with more natural and even colored skin. In addition, a method called Dermabrasion may also be recommended by your physician. Dermabrasion is a procedure in which the skin is lightly sanded to smooth out imperfections. Factors such as skin tone and texture as well as the age of the scar will be evaluated during your initial consultation to determine the best method of treatment for you.
