Dr. Henry A. Mentz,
III, MD, PA, FACS, FICS - Before & After's
Facelift for Men
The four components that
are evaluated for facial rejuvenation are:
skin, fat, muscle and bone. A face lift,
or Rhytidectomy, is a procedure for reversing
the signs of aging by removing excess fat,
tightening underlying muscles and reshaping
the skin of your face and neck. Incisions
for a facelift usually begin hidden above
the hairline at the temples, and extend
in a natural line around the ear to the
lower scalp. After removing excess fat and
skin, and tightening the underlying muscles,
the incisions are sutured.
Dr. Mentz may suggest
other procedures to maximize your appearance
goals, such as laser resurfacing for fine
wrinkles, fat injections, nose reshaping,
or facial implants. A procedure to improve
the appearance of the eyelids or forehead
may also be performed along with a facelift. Collagen
replacement and chemical peels are other
options for facial rejuvenation. Computer
imaging can allow Dr. Mentz to develop a
plan to assist you in achieving your appearance
goals.
