Dr. Henry A. Mentz, III, MD, PA,
FACS, FICS - Before & After's
Abdominoplasty (Tummy Tuck)
Abdominoplasty or "tummy tuck"
is the most common procedure for flattening the stomach.
The tummy tuck is helpful to women who have stretched
muscles and skin after pregnancy, or for women who have
lost a great deal of weight. The procedure removes excess
skin from the middle and lower abdomen and tightens
the muscles of the abdominal wall. The resulting scar
is permanent, but can be hidden below the bikini line.
Along with the tummy tuck, Dr. Mentz may recommend liposuction
to remove excess fat deposits, creating a more desirable
body contour. This procedure can be performed in 1
to 2 hours.
New advances in tummy tucks can make
your operation safer, more comfortable and achieve a
better result. Tumescent liposuction improves waistline
contours, lateral tension techniques offer a softer
appearance to your new tummy and make it easier to hide
scars, incremental compression garments
on the legs lower complications and special belly button
techniques can make your tummy prettier and appear more
natural and unoperated.
Dr. Mentz and his expert staff have
a great experience with liposuction and tummy tucks.
He will do his best to maximize your result with minimal
detectability and risk.
After your procedure Dr. Mentz may
offer a visit to your home by a plastic
surgery nurse trained to assist in your recovery. The
recovery period is usually 1-2 weeks. You may begin
to exercise in 6 weeks.
