The ACPS Surgery Center and the ACPS Spa & Rejuvenation Center have ceased all operations since Monday, March 23, 2020 until Tuesday, April 22, 2020 due to the executive order put out by Governor Abbott on Sunday, March 22. This order was given to all health care professionals, “All licensed health care professionals and facilities to postpone all surgeries and procedures that are not immediately, medically necessary.” ACPS has been a leader in plastic surgery and aesthetic procedures since its inception in 1996 and were diligent in quick action to ensure we are helping to protect the Houston community.

With the additional “stay-at-home” orders from Harris County judge Lina Hidalgo, beginning Wednesday, March 25, 2020 thru Friday, April 3, 2020, the physicians at ACPS are only seeing emergent cases and patients in the recovery phase of their medical services, to whom telehealth is not an option.

The physicians at ACPS are proud members of the Texas Society of Plastic Surgeons (TSPS) who recently joined Govern Abbott in a press conference at the capitol to discuss TSPS’s contributions during the COVID-19 crisis. This included a donation from ACPS along with plastic surgeons across the state of Texas of vital medical supplies including PPE’s and masks that will be distributed to healthcare workers across Texas.

It is our hope that we will begin to see face to face surgical consultations beginning Monday, April 6, 2020, while still implementing our COVID-19 protocols created by CDC guidelines. We also hope to resume all spa appointments, aesthetic procedures and surgeries on Wednesday, April 22, 2020. We will be following the situation very closely and will adjust all our target dates under the guidance of local, state and national officials.

Our thoughts and prayers are with every person during these trying days but especially with those who are fighting this horrible virus.  We pray for their quick recovery, for the many families suffering and for the healthcare providers.

For updates on the status of our offices we invite you to visit our company website at www.mybeautifulbody.com or call our main number, 713.799.9999.

If you had a SPA appointment between March 21, 2020 and April 21, 2020, it has been cancelled. We apologize for any inconvenience and our office will be reaching out to you closer to April 22, 2020 to get your appointment rescheduled.

In the meantime we invite you to visit our new online store where you can prepay for your favorite spa procedures at a discount. Please visit: https://www.learnmoreacps.com/treatments-online

The Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery (ACPS)

ACPS announcing temporary closure of its private surgical facility & medical spa

Today ACPS is announcing the temporary closure of its private surgical facility and medical spa affective Friday, March 20, 2020 in response to COVID-19.   The office clinics will remain open but with reduced staffing to serve our patients in the recovery phase of their medical services.

The surgeons of the Aesthetic Center for Plastic Surgery (ACPS) have made this decision based on extensive consultation with local officials, medical facilities and national societies.  It has been determined that although both facilities could safely continue to perform services it is in the best interest of our community, patients and staff to postpone services during the COVID-19 pandemic.

ACPS has been a leader in plastic surgery since its inception in 1996.  We recognize other private surgical facilities are open and continuing to perform services.  We hope to be an example to those facilities during this time when supplies are low and healthcare providers on the front lines need all the support we can provide them.

To our patients,

ACPS would like to reassure our patients of our commitment to keeping you, your family and our staff safe.  We understand the many concerns and anxieties in our community today.

As a surgical facility, Infection Control has been and will always be a top priority.  During this unique time, we are monitoring the CDC’s guidelines on infection control on a daily basis and implementing their recommendations as they become available.

With that in mind ACPS has chosen to implement some new policies and ask for your assistance and understanding.  The following guidelines have been put in place for your safety and ours:

Preparedness Action 1:  We are limiting the total number of visitors to our office.  This is one of the most common sense actions we can take to minimize everyone’s risk.

  • We are allowing every patient just 1 additional guest. Do not come to your appointment with more than 1 additional family member or friend.
  • Do not arrive too early to your appointment so we minimize the number of people in our waiting rooms.
  • We are replacing some in-person appointments with tele-medicine options.
  • We are eliminating unnecessary vendor traffic.

Preparedness Action 2:  If you meet any of the criteria below we ask ask you not to schedule appointments or to reschedule your appointment:

  • Have fever of 100.0° or greater.
  • Have signs & symptoms of a respiratory illness.
  • Have traveled outside the US in the last 14 days including cruises.
  • Have traveled on a commercial flight in the last 14 days.
  • Have been in contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19

Preparedness Action 3:  We will be pre-screening of both patients and staff before allowing access to the office.  Upon arrival both staff and patients will be asked a few questions and be required to have your temperature taken.  Unless your MD requires you to be seen right way, your appointment may need to be rescheduled.  Here are the pre-screening criteria:

  • Have a fever of 100.0° or greater.
  • Show signs & symptoms of a respiratory illness (exceptions granted if you are willing to wear a mask)
  • Have traveled internationally travel in the last 14 days including cruises.
  • Have traveled on a commercial flight in the last 14 days.
  • Have had contact with anyone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19

Patients who must be seen will be asked to wear a mask and will be escorted directly to an exam room.

Preparedness Action 4:  We ask that you follow our infection control etiquette which includes:

  • Using hand sanitizer immediately when you enter the office and throughout your visit.
  • Washing hands often.
  • Do not shake hands with staff or other guests.
  • Cover your mouth with a tissue if you need to cough or cough into the crook of your arm. Discard used tissues right way and don’t forget to wash your hands afterwards.
  • Be mindful not to touch your face, nose & eyes.

Preparedness Action 5:  The doctors and staff will be practicing non-contact greetings, please don’t be offended if they don’t shake your hand.
